Rotterdam signs MoUs for economic partnerships with Surat, India

Today, at Vibrant Gujarat 2017, representatives from Rotterdam Partners and the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) signed two memoranda of understanding to seal a commitment for the two cities to collaborate on projects that will make both cities more resilient, cleaner and greener. The two cities, connected through the 100RC network, will collaborate on waste water recycling, waste to energy systems, smart city IT projects and climate resilience.

The first MOU, signed by Rotterdam Partners and SMC focuses on waste water recycling, waste to energy systems and, Smart City IT. The second signed between Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Rotterdam Partners includes provisions for the exchange of information, bilateral trade, a trade agreement, arbitration and business visas. Rotterdam and Surat are connected through 100 Resilient Cities – Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation, a network dedicated to building urban resilience globally.
